1. Software Engineering
This programme is designed for candidates who wish to obtain knowledge, skills and expertise in software engineering and will be able to apply them to analyse and solve problems in the industry. The programme will train graduates to produce creative, innovative ideas as well as develop critical thinking to advanced level of knowledge that will benefit the industry and the research community.
This programme also designed to produce professional and dedicated software engineers who should lead in the development and maintenance of software projects ahead to International Standards. This programme also aims to expose the software engineers with local industrial experiences in real working environment.
2. Computer Systems Engineering
Computer Systems Engineering integrates few disciplines and specialty groups into a team effort forming a structured development process that proceeds from concept to production to operation. Master of Science (Computer Systems Engineering) programme is the integration of systems engineering, software engineering and computer engineering knowledge. This programme will produce graduates who can work in a career related to the field of technology-driven and interdisciplinary or multi-technology in nature. They are able to design, develop and integrate between software and hardware that includes the embedded system equipped with security and software requirements.
3. Information Assurance
Information Assurance (IA) is the practice of assuring information and managing risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information. While focused dominantly on information in digital form, the full range of IA encompasses not only digital but also analog or physical form. Information assurance as a field has grown from the practice of information security which in turn grew out of practices and procedures of computer security. IA also is best thought of as a superset of information security, integrating people, technology and operations to establish security and protection across multiple layers and dimensions.
The MSc (Information Assurance) programme offered by UTM AIS will be the integration of digital forensic science, security engineering, IT risk management of management systems and standard compliance towards a safe and secured information society against emerging threats.
Informatics is defined as the study and application of Information Technology in the arts and science across organizations and society at large. The term Informatics has been used to explain the Information Technology application and adoption in various work scope. The intervention of technology in organisation is significantly growing with various applications of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Hence, to fulfill the high demand for skillful ICT human resource. Informatics is a platform for those with the ICT as well as non-ICT background to be further competent and proficient in various disciplines of informatics such as education informatics, business informatics, health informatics, social informatics, organizational informatics and etc.
